A self-professing beach bum throughout many of the years on either side of the millenium, Steve “got by” doing design as a self-employed designer, all the while supporting a rather expensive and addicting habit of playing 2-man beach volleyball (see www.mpva.com for what that included) where he generally hovered around dead-middle on the rankings.
Upon beginning a relationship with Amy and their subsequent marriage, things got a bit hectic and volleyball definitely took a backseat, as Amy developed breast cancer that was caught just a few weeks after their honeymoon. After quite a few procedures and a lot of growing and adapting, Amy and Steve are currently blessed with good health and a recent bonus addition to the household: Katie Jain, born January 13, 2006.
Steve no longer plays regular beach volleyball, and doesn’t miss it all that much — in fact, his shoulder has been thanking him for only playing some indoor in the winter months and allowing it to miss out on the abuse of hitting an outdoor ball for an entire Saturday. Now, much more important things take up his time, such as making his daughter belly-laugh, or fixing up “one more room” in the house, or getting in a game of ultimate frisbee or a golf fund-raiser here’n there.
Good is God… and that’s full-time.
